Baldrick's novel is a semi-autobiographical "book" written by Sodof Baldrick it is the first and, as of now, only "book" written by him. Being called his magnum opus (said as "magnificent octopus). The novel is only one sentence long.
"Once upon a time there was a lovely sausage named Baldrick and it lived happily ever after."
- The novel was responsible for the destruction of Samuel Johnson's English dictionary, due to it containing a word that wasn't in it, that being sausage. This caused Johnson to leave in a huff and the dictionary was later burned by Baldrick.
- It was featured in the Blackadder the Third episode "Ink and Incapability".
