Baron Manfred von Richthofen is a character in Blackadder Goes Forth, played by Adrian Edmondson.
In the episode "Private Plane", he shoots down the plane which Blackadder and Bladrick are flying and then takes them prisoner. Another German states he is the 'greatest living German'. Blackadder and Baldrick are preparing for the worst when the Red Baron tells them they will have to teach young nuns in Germany, where they will stay until the end of the war. Unfortunately for them, Squadron Commander the Lord Flashheart and Lieutenant George come to rescue them. Richthofen discovers they are trying to escape and, meeting Lord Flashheart, tells him he would like to be his friend. In response, Flashheart shoots Richthofen and proclaims "What a poof!" The group then returns to British lines.
