The Blackadder Wiki

Edmund: A Butler's Tale was a book written by Edmund Blackadder under the pseudonym, Gertrude Perkins. It was his magnum opus.

The book, according to Blackadder, was "a giant rollercoaster of a novel in four hundred sizzling chapters. A searing indictment of domestic servitude in the eighteenth century, with some hot gypsies thrown in".

  • The book took Blackadder seven years to write.
  • He had given it to Samuel Johnson when it was done. The book was later burned by Baldrick.
