When Captain Edmund Blackadder questioned Captain Darling, under Suspicion of being a German spy, he asked Darling to name the German head of state. To which Captain Darling responded, "Kaiser Wilhelm, of course". The response caused Captain Blackadder to accuse him of being on first name basis with the kaiser.
